More than a soda, it’s our opportunity to give back to our community. 

OBJECTIVE

Like Big Jerk, our team has always been curious about the possibilities of creating our own nonprofit campaign. Like many of our partners, we utilized our intimate relationship to think outside the box and extend our resources in an effort to help one of our favorite organizations… and Dave was born. 

Our early discussions w/ the Big Jerk team we’re informal, heartfelt, and bound in commonality. Through numerous discovery meetings we realized that this local soda companies biggest asset was all the other small businesses, artists, and friends alike who supported their venture. This wasn’t just about selling sodas but about leaving a lasting legacy and giving back to this community that made it all possible. 

Together we decided to focus our efforts on a nonprofit campaign together, and co-brand a limited soda that would benefit our favorite local music based nonprofit Blues Angel Music Foundation. 

We wrote the first soda’s launch story as a 10+ part series that would act as a centerpiece for the soda release each year. Through this campaign we generated attention for an event that we would throw later that year where we would release Karate Dave’s Fruit Punch. And yes, his names really Dave. 

One of their biggest obstacles was sharing with the patients an idea of what to expect while communicating the brand’s values. NueLine is not the first to do ambulatory EEG testing, but they are the best. Visual work in the medical space can often be sterile and in our opinion treads the line of “too clean.” Here we challenge the norm and lean into the idea of ambulatory care’s most prominent advantages, convenience and comfort.

We activated the space at a local brewery, crowd sourced a band, a custom Karate Dave’s beer on tap, a one time special Karate Dave burger at the MISU food truck out front, received donated baked goods from numerous local bakeries, had multiple artists create campaign themed art, and raised more than $5k off soda sales in our first year. We’re excited to continue this campaign this year and reveal part 2 of this campaign and soda, Zen Dave’s Mellow Melon. 

Destyn and the Lensea team are such an incredible addition to the south east. The team is not only extremely knowledgable in what they offer but also able to articulate in a way that makes collaboration and creation feel effortless and intentional. While Lensea has a large portfolio of clients they also somehow make you feel like you are their only client and priority. The Lensea team are experts in what they do and a forward-looking company. They are without a doubt the best of the best and a joy to work with.

It’s hard to write a review for Lensea because it’s more than just a business. It’s an amazing team of extremely talented individuals that work together seamlessly, but all bring a ton of individual character to every aspect of the work they do. From the processes of developing, writing, planning, shooting to sound design, editing and delivering the final product, there was no detail missed. Each step of the way we were so thrilled and thankful to be working with a team that you could tell cared deeply about the the work they were doing.
